John's POV

So being a werewolf wasn't so bad, but it wasn't so good either. My senses were stronger. That was good and bad. It was bad when I returned to work. I could hear all the noises, all of the putrid smells, see the diseases in finer detail, and taste the viruses in the air. I went home before I threw up. But I got used to it. I hadn't turned into a wolf since my change. I was too terrified to do it.
Sherlock and Lestrade had explained everything to me. About how the gem could find the vampire killer. How the moon can affect me. The Blue Moon connects me to my peaceful spiritual side, while the Blood Moon connects me to my wild animal side. It's difficult to change on a New Moon, easier on a Full Moon. Lestrade had been a werewolf for quite some time. Wolves age slowly. He had also been given the gift, a psychic power. If he touches something he can sense their auras and see its history, say the history of a house or a person. Sometimes he can control it, other times he can't. He can also see ghosts. Sure, any mythological creature can see ghosts, but he sees them all the time.
And then there's Sherlock. He and his brother had been changed during the black plague. They had killed their creator shortly after. Mycroft has the ability to alter perception and create illusions, something he's used on me many times apparently. Sherlock doesn't like it. Sherlock himself, well, he had been given the gift. He feels energies and sees the world in auras. He said everything has energy. It's called different things. Nature is just energy. Humans and animals have souls. Humans have the strongest energy. Mythological beings have essence. Were-creatures have a special sort of essence. It's sort of a soul entwined with essence. But having essence means when you die, you stay dead. That's what Sherlock and Lestrade believe. What's dead should stay dead. I agreed with them.

We were all sitting in the flat. I was at the desk typing away at my laptop. Sherlock and Lestrade were discussing their gem situation. With me out of the question, they had to find another oblivious human to look for them gem. The Blue Moon had passed, so there wasn't any risk of turning someone. I had forgiven Lestrade for that. Wasn't his fault. I heard him suggest Mrs Hudson to look for the gem to Sherlock, who shook the idea away.
"What about Molly?" I suggested. They stared at me. "What about Molly?"
"What about her?" Lestrade asked.
"She doesn't know anything. And she's as human as you can get," I answered, "She is human right?"
"Yes, she is. She would be perfect. I could hypnotise her," Sherlock replied.
"So that part is true? About the vampires?" I asked. Most of the information I received was about werewolves. Didn't get a lot about vampires.
"Yes, but it is difficult to learn. Takes years to master," Sherlock replied, "No one can resist the violet eyes of a vampire."
"So we get Molly to look for it," Lestrade said, "John and I will watch over her."
"Oh, you mean walk with her," I said.
"No. Like what I did with you. Watch over her in wolf form, ready when danger strikes," Lestrade replied.
"What?" I blinked. I didn't want to change.
"Don't worry about it. You'll be fine," Lestrade chuckled, "Glad this is settled then. See you lads later. Sherlock, talk to Molly, and don't scare her off."
"Goodbye Lestrade," Sherlock said.
"Bye," I waved as Lestrade left. Sherlock sighed. He was next to me in an instant with his hands around my waist, pulling me up from my seat. I rested my hands on his chest. His sudden appearance made me jump.
"Glad he left," Sherlock grinned.
"So, Sherlock, tell me about your kind," I said, "I've heard enough of werewolves; I want to know a bit more about you."
"Where should I begin?" Sherlock pondered. He stroked my head as he spoke. "Well for one, vampire's senses are a lot stronger than werewolf's senses. We're a lot faster, stronger and agile, but we're equal when you're in wolf form. We're undead. We need fresh human blood to survive. We can walk in the sunlight, but we prefer the night. We don't turn into bats. We can eat garlic. We don't need coffins. We don't sleep upside down. We don't even sleep. We have reflections. Holy water does not affect us. No religious artefacts do. But a few spells and symbols can bind us and what not. Dead man's blood does not have an effect on us on its own. And a piece of a special rare old tree that is carved into an enchanted stake can kill us. As well as fire."
"Vampires in a nutshell," I grinned, stroking Sherlock's face.
"Indeed," he said. He leaned in and kissed me. My warms lips meeting his cold lips. Fire and ice at perfect harmony. I had fallen deeply for him. Probably too deep, but I didn't care. All that matters was that he was mine and I was his. And with my new species change I could be with him longer. The idea made me smile. The fact that we're monsters didn't change a thing.

Can I just say that I don't really read much fanfic because it's the same plot over and over, and the fact I actually read through, all the way up to the last chapter, and am craving more is just...so..personally mind-blowing. I don't want to sound like I'm rambling, but I don't think I can go back to any other werewolf/vampire johnlock fanfiction without constantly comparing it to this. Can't wait for the next chapter. Wonderfully written.
